Quick review on Chatbooks printing service
Since Facebook has announced they are applying the same algorithm to Instagram feed, I started looking into options for printing out my Instagram photos. We all know that any popular online services can become irrelevant and die off eventually, therefore I like to have something tangible if Instagram cannot survive the change.
There is no easy way to print out all my Instagram photos when I am looking at the numbers. I have been a member since 2010 and I have posted over 3000 pictures! If I chose to print out one by one, even thousands of pictures can be unmanageable, plus I would like to keep some of the information of the pictures. That led me to using Chatbooks printing service. It is an photo printing app on iPhone, you can find it from your app store.
The Chatbooks app doesn't just print from your Instagram feed, you can also import photos from Facebook or your camera roll. On this review I will just focus on my experience on Instagram photos printing. It was a fairly easy process, once I login on my Instagram account, it automatically pulled all the photos and organized them in 60 pages photo books. I could easily go through them, preview the books, and exclude photos that I didn't want them to print. In the setting, I found options to either show or hide avatar, captions, location, date, and time. For my preference, I only chose to print the date and location.
It is a subscription based printing service, which works if you have a lot of photos like my feed. I ended up having almost 40 books to print, it would cost a lot if I was printing it all. Thus, I chose the 5 volumes per month subscription.
After about a week, my photo books came! They came in a USPS protective envelope and not a box. Surprisingly the books arrived perfect without a scratch! Printing quality is quite good considering I was just using an iPhone 4 back in 2010! By the way, you won't see the location information on this batch since I chose not to include the location back then when I posted my pictures.
Overall, it was a great experience using the app and it feels good to turn those memories into tangible photo books. I think you would agree memories are priceless, and $8 for a 60 pages good quality photo book is definitely well worth it! Let me know if you have found some other way to print your Instagram photos!
