Loving my Dooney & Bourke Nylon Editors Tote

When I first heard of Dooney & Bourke, I didn't think I would like them. I didn't think their style of bags would fit me. Often, when I watched YouTube bag reviews, they would describe Dooney as being old-fashioned. Without looking into the collections they provide, I was told to believe they were bags for mature women.

However, if you spend some time on their website, you would be surprised to find many hidden gems! The first bag that caught my eyes was the Toscana Executive Delancey Tote. I was amazed to see how beautiful the bag was on their website, and it was exactly how my dream tote would be. I will review the Delancey Tote some other day. Right now, I would like to talk about another gorgeous tote I bought from them, and it is the Dooney & Bourke Nylon Editors Tote.

Dooney & Bourke Nylon Editors Tote is a North-South bag, and it has a classic vertical silhouette that would look great with anyone. They got the size right for this work tote as well. It is big enough to fit your laptop but not huge and overwhelming when you carry it. The laptop compartment acts as a divider in the middle of the tote, and it is connected at the bottom. So basically, you get three big compartments inside the bag for your organization's needs. I rarely carry a laptop out with me, and the zipped laptop compartment is great for securing any important things I may bring that day.

However, the bag doesn't feature any external pockets, which is not an issue since it doesn't have a zipper closure, and you can easily access the internal pockets. Although you can't zip up the tote at the opening, it does have a skinny buckle closure for you to minimize the opening of the bag. Personally, I rarely use the buckle closure as we all know that's not the most convenient feature on any bag. I would only buckle it up if I am traveling or if I worried things in my bag would roll out.

Looking inside the tote, I was surprised to find so many pockets! On one side, you will find two open pockets that are big enough to fit any large phone you have. On the other side, you get another open pocket and a zipped pocket to secure important things like your purse, wallet, IDs, etc. Other than pockets, you will also find a key hook attached to the side near the top.

This nylon tote features short leather handles. The thickness of the handles is perfect and very comfortable to use. The tote does come with a skinny shoulder strap, which is pretty much the only thing I am not fond of about this bag. The leather shoulder strap is not adjustable and is relatively short. Even though the strap is well made, I am more of a crossbody guy, and I don't see myself ever using it. But that's where the fun begins. Since the tote has D-rings on both sides, I can use any custom strap to spice up the look.

In terms of material, the quality of both the nylon and the leather on this tote is exceptional! In addition, since the bottom corners of the bag are slightly rounded, I don't have to worry about corner wear like the Ferragamo tote I previously reviewed. Checking on the stitches, I could see the thread they used was thick and durable. I am confident that this tote will last a very long time, even if I use it daily! Lastly, this Dooney & Bourke Nylon Editors Tote is very affordable. You can always find good deals on both Dooney.com and ILoveDooney.com. At the time of this review, the bag is even cheaper on Dooney's eBay store! Seriously, if my wallet allows, I like to get the brown one and the navy one as well!
