Bape X Coach Tote 40 In Signature Chambray Bag

Bape X Coach Tote 40 In Signature Chambray Bag

In a way, Coach is somewhat a fast-food fashion brand regarding how they price and release their new products. For that reason, I don't often pay full price for a Coach item unless it is a limited collaboration or I am genuinely in love with the product. At least half of their items eventually go on sale either on the Coach website or their outlet site.

When they announced their collaboration with Bape, I didn't think I was going to get anything. Bape is a famous Japanese streetwear brand, and I don't believe its products are exactly what I would typically add to my closet. However, once pictures of the products started popping up on social media, I couldn't help but want the beautiful blue Bape X Coach Tote 40 In Signature Chambray! Blue is one of my favorite colors, and the color combo they used for the tote was simply exceptional!

On the day of the release, I was waiting patiently for the product to show up. Once I saw the bag, I added it to my cart and went through the whole checkout process. I couldn't believe the bag was gone before I finished paying. It went out of stock within minutes! After talking to my Coach SA Brandon on Instagram, he told me he could help me order one! How could I resist right? You always want things you couldn't get! Thanks to Brandon, I got my bag, but later I learned that you could also buy it on Bape's online store. Most items were available on the Bape website for a few days before they were gone entirely.

Perhaps I don't do enough homework when I shop. So I thought this Tote 40 would be a structured bag like some other field totes I have. I was way off! This bag was made with Chambray fabric, which is a plain-weave cotton fabric that is very soft. It will be a slouchy tote without a base, even though the bag is lined with Jacquard fabric. I'm not too fond of slouchy bags, but I am keeping it because I do love the design, especially the turn-lock closure, which is a classical element of Coach bags. People said every problem has a solution. Thus, I figured out a way to make it the bag it was meant to be! I found an acrylic base shaper I could use for this tote. Once you make your order, you can contact the seller to tell them the specific size you need. It was so good that I also got one for my Marc Jacobs denim tote bag!

Zip pocket inside the tote

The design of this tote is relatively straight forward, which is the case for most totes. It has a big zip pocket inside, but other than that, everything is very standard. Before receiving this tote, I asked myself if I would be happy with the quality paying full-price? Now having this tote in my collection for a while, I think it is worth the price! Although it is a fabric tote, it does feel luxurious with the Chambray fabric. The hardware on this retail bag is higher in quality, and you can feel the weight of this hardware, not some fake metal. The small details like the turn-lock closure and the thick crossbody strap surely complete the look for this tote!
