Before I became interested in buying bags, I had always known about Tumi and their excellent quality bags because my friends back home were always asking about pricing on Tumi and Coach bags. However, Tumi is not a bag company that makes trendy bags that are only good for a season. Instead, they seem to have a more utilitarian direction in designing and creating their collection. Often, their bags are very functional, with tons of pockets and compartments for your organization's needs. Due to me working from home, my bag needs are relatively simple. Even though I love their briefcases, I never needed one.
Recently, after purchasing tons of tote bags, I realized I need small bags too for day-to-day use. So far, I have bought a few crossbody bags from Coach and a camera bag from Madewell. Some of those bags look big in dimension, but in reality, they can't fit as much as I would hope. Then one day, I ran into this Tumi Voyageur Troy Crossbody at T.J. Maxx. It was totally love at first sight! It wasn't cheap for a small nylon bag; even if it was at T. J. Maxx. However, Tumi's products are always at a higher price point for nylon bags. And when I saw the bag, I knew it would be perfect for my needs!

In terms of size, Tumi Voyageur Troy Crossbody is quite a small bag. The official dimension from their website is 8.25 inches in width, 7 inches in height, and 2.25 inches in depth. If I shopped on their website and looked at those numbers, I wouldn't have bought it. Seriously, 2.25 inches! What could it fit? In reality, this tiny bag holds more than my imagination! For instance, I had used it to carry my Fujifilm X100V camera when I went to Dallas. If you are familiar with cameras, you would know X100V is not the tiniest point-and-shoot camera. I was in complete shock that my X100V fit inside the bag perfectly, and with extra room for other stuff!

What else I tried to stuff in the bag? On top of my camera, I kept my bi-fold wallet inside the zip pocket in the main compartment. I could fit two small pouches of hand sanitizer wipes plus my iPhone 12 Pro Max inside the front zip compartment if I wanted to. However, I ended up carrying my iPhone inside the slip pocket at the back of the bag for easy access. This crossbody bag is truly made for organizing maniacs. For such a tiny bag, it has so many pockets and compartments! It has one small slip pocket for cards and one full-size slip pocket for whatever you need it to be inside the front zip compartment! You would find another good-sized zip pocket for your wallet, a small purse, or anything you want to stay secured in the main zip compartment. If you're going to keep your keys inside the main compartment, it has a short lanyard to hook your keys. I love the slip pocket at the back. It has a magnetic closure, so they are not likely to fall out if you store tickets or receipts inside. Lastly, they also provided a removable key ring that attaches to the D-ring on the side of the bag.
Tumi Voyageur Troy Crossbody is a well-designed bag that is as functional as you want it to be. Other than the perfection in pockets and compartments, the bag also has some notable small details. For example, I rarely see a tiny bag like this with a top handle and four metal feet. The metal feet do keep the bag away from the surface when you put it down. It is especially significant when I use it to carry my camera since the bag doesn't have padding at the bottom. I didn't think I needed a top handle on small bags, but the truth is, the top handle is useful for any bag! In addition, this crossbody features a removable strap, so if you want to get fancy, you could always switch it out for thicker and more colorful straps.
Sometimes I bought a bag, and I would end up with buyer's remorse because the bag was not that great. But, with this Tumi Voyageur Troy Crossbody, I loved it when I saw it, and I love it even more now after I used it! I enjoy my leather bags, but I think we all need some superb and functional nylon bags from Tumi! The bag is fantastic, and I wouldn't think twice to snatch another one if I see a sale!
